🍫 tahini lentil brownies

I was surprised to find the tahini in these appropriate, since I’ve had unpleasant experiences with the stuff overall, but it seems like sweetness is the solution.
Thanking several food bloggers (recipes 1, 2, 3, 4) for the inspiration for these! See my notes for a more standard legume brownie here (ft. black bean).

kitchen notes - tahini lentil brownies
  2 T chia seeds
2/3 C cooked red lentils
1/2 tsp salt
  1 tsp baking powder
  1 T vanilla sugar
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C cocoa powder
1/2 C tahini
2/3 C sunflower seeds

> blend lentils and chia seeds together. add water to bring to 1 c, and let sit so the chia seeds can absorb the moisture. combine all ingredients and bake in a loaf pan at 175°C (350°F) for 20min.

* the addition of starch may be good and may make the outside more crisp.
(this was in many recipes i saw, meant to add it but forgot.)

My housemate asked me if I should be studying when I took these out of the oven… The answer is yes, but it’s cool here, and who doesn’t need a pick-me-up, especially before finals?

Also, included the picture of the brownies stacked before I wrapped them in a towel, because I thought that too was pretty… Maybe I’ve just stared at Chinese characters and go boards for too long.
